You can apply for this reduction to joint loans if one of the borrowers is entering, called to active duty, or deployed with the military. This rate can also be applied to individual loans made to the spouse of a military member. Learn more about the SCRA program.
Note: You may encounter a certificate error before getting to the SCRA website, which is expected behavior. Please proceed to the SCRA site. For more information about the certificate error, read this FAQ explanation.
Which loans apply?
Security Service will apply this rate reduction to qualified loans, including credit cards, lines of credit, installment loans, and real estate loans, for all of our members currently deployed in the armed forces.
If you have already reported for duty out of town, you can complete the Operation Home Front Notice Of Loan Rate Reduction To 6% Form by mail or by a person with Power of Attorney.
The date at which the rate change is effective depends on whether you were active duty when the loan was made.
If you were not active duty when the loan was made but then became active duty, the rate change will be effective the date you became active duty.
