The Credit Union encourages all Military Families to save for the future

(SAN ANTONIO, TX – February 21, 2019) – Helping Military Families save for the future is something Security Service Federal Credit Union takes pride in.  This is why the credit union will once again take part in Military Saves Week.

A component of the Defense Credit Union Council’s (DCUC) annual campaign, the initiative will take place February 25 – March 2, 2019. In conjunction with the non-profit America Saves, and a partner in the Department of Defense’s Financial Readiness campaign, this dedicated week provides a platform for financial institutions to educate, support, and encourage military families to save, reduce debt, and plan for their future.

“Each year our goal is to reach as many service members and their families as possible,” said Fred Salyers, vice president of governmental and military affairs for Security Service Federal Credit Union.  “This is the perfect time for military families to assess savings and debt, and to make sure they are on track with their financial goals.”

Military Saves and Security Service encourage all service members to save a portion of each paycheck and develop a personal financial plan. Security Service also offers a free EverFi Financial Literacy Program. This online education center features interactive financial education modules on topics such as credit cards, loans, identity protection, and much more.

Interested service members are encouraged to visit a Security Service Federal Credit Union location in Texas, Colorado or Utah, during this annual Military Saves Week to learn more about products and services offered.
