Donation Provides Critical Home Repairs

Security Service Charitable Foundation has donated $10,000 to Rebuilding Together San Antonio, an organization that provides low-income and elderly homeowners with critical home repairs, accessibility modifications and energy-efficient upgrades.

Security Service’s $10,000 donation will go directly towards purchasing materials, supplies, and various expenses needed for home repairs. To date, Rebuilding Together San Antonio has assisted over 2,000 people in some 600 households.

“We believe that everyone deserves to live in a safe and healthy home,” said Kent Gerstner, executive director for Rebuilding Together San Antonio. “To make safe and healthy homes a reality, we rely solely on monetary and in-kind donations from businesses like Security Service Federal Credit Union. Their dedication to community service is literally helping to rebuild communities.”

“Security Service is honored to donate funds to Rebuilding Together San Antonio,” said Jay Gable, board member for Rebuilding Together and senior vice president of indirect lending for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “On a daily basis, they are rebuilding the tangible needs that strengthen community spirit. We are only as strong and healthy as the communities we grow in; that’s why continuing to invest in our neighborhoods and one another is of upmost importance to Security Service.”

The Security Service Charitable Foundation helps further Security Service Federal Credit Union’s corporate goal of community service by contributing to deserving organizations and causes in the credit union’s market areas.
