SECURITY SERVICE CHARITABLE FOUNDATION DONATES $5,000 FOR RESOURCES AT YOUTH EMERGENCY SHELTER
Funds will provide beds and chest of drawers
(CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – MAY 25, 2023) –– The Security Service Charitable Foundation donated $5,000 to The Ark Assessment Center and Emergency Shelter for Youth of Corpus Christi, Texas. This donation will be used to purchase clothing and diapers for children in the shelter.
“These children are coming to us in a vulnerable time,” said Delma Trejo, executive director/administrator for The Ark Assessment Center and Emergency Shelter for Youth. “This donation from the Security Service Charitable Foundation means we can provide diapers and clothing to these children in their time of need.”
The Security Service Charitable Foundation’s donation will help The Ark Assessment Center and Emergency Shelter for Youth purchase clothing and diapers, two of the biggest needs for the organization. The shelter currently houses 31 children who are under the age of four years old.
“This program is needed because it helps children who have been traumatized due to abuse and neglect,” said Julie Balboa, vice president of member service—South Texas for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “We’re honored to help an organization that helps these vulnerable children.”
The Ark Assessment Center and Emergency Shelter for Youth cares for children and youth who are removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect by a parent or guardian. The Ark is committed to demonstrating to innocent victims that even though they have been mistreated by their parents or guardians, there are people in the Coastal Bend community who are ready to treat them with love, dignity, and respect.
The Security Service Charitable Foundation helps further Security Service Federal Credit Union’s corporate goal of community service by contributing to deserving organizations and causes in the credit union's market areas.
