![]() Mobile One, Security Service Federal Credit Union's Mobile Service Center in Texas, is a full-service financial facility on wheels. It has been in continuous operation since its inaugural operation and unveiling in San Antonio on Labor Day weekend in 1991. Mobile One travels throughout San Antonio and South Texas, taking Security Service Federal Credit Union to its members. Mobile One, the nation's first fully customized full financial mobile unit, was built in 1991 from the ground up by Winnebago, to Security Service Federal Credit Union's specifications. It's mission is to serve members at their place of employment as well as provide ATM service at festivals and special events throughout San Antonio and South Texas. In full Member Service mode, Mobile One Service Center Mobile One is staffed by two fully qualified Mobile Service Center employees and one armed security officer. In ATM mode, the unit is staffed by one Mobile Service Center employee and one armed security officer. To conduct business online, Mobile One is equipped with two member service desks, a portable PC and printer at each desk to process account and teller service transactions, a temporary check imprinter, a money order unit, an ATM/Debit Card generator, an combination administrative telephone/facsimile, a credit card imprinter, two Diebold model 1060 ATMs, a 13" color TV driven by a VCR for marketing purposes, and a full security system. Electrical power comes from an external electrical source (shore power or external generator) or through one of its two on-board generators, each of which is capable of providing the unit's full electrical requirement. Transactions are processed real-time, online via telephone lines. Creature comforts include a bathroom, small refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave oven. Mobile One takes on special missions as required. During September and into October 1992, Mobile One traveled to Homestead, Florida to provide emergency financial services to credit union members and the general public after Hurricane Andrew swept through the area. Mobile One also provides emergency reaction services to SSFCU Service Center's in the San Antonio area. Mobile One operates on average 70-80 hours per week. |
